The R House Student Center is a safe space for students to explore questions of identity, faith, and belonging. We believe in supporting the whole person, and a vital part of that is addressing their physical needs. Small acts of kindness, like a donated coat or a warm meal, can make a huge difference in a student’s life. With your help, we can continue to be the hands and feet of Jesus to students in our community.
How You Can Help
FOOD PANTRY |
CLOTHING AND CARE |
Our year-round food pantry is a vital lifeline for students struggling with food insecurity. For some, it is the primary source of their daily lunches, and your contributions ensure that no student has to choose between their education and their next meal. We gratefully accept all types of food donations |
Students often struggle to afford everyday items, from soap to socks. Your donations help fill this gap, allowing them to focus their limited resources on tuition and housing instead of having to choose between a textbook and a bottle of detergent. We also gratefully accept clothing donations, especially warm winter clothing, to help keep students comfortable throughout the colder months. |
VOLUNTEER |
DONATION BOXES |
We love having volunteers as part of our day-to-day activities at The Center! Whether you're a community member or a student in need of community service hours, there are many ways you can help support our mission. |
Partner with us to support students by hosting one of our donation boxes! This is a simple and effective way for your community, business, or church to make a direct impact. We provide the branded box, a list of needed items, and will handle all pickups. It's an easy way to collect much-needed donations and get them directly to students. |
FEEDING THE HUNGRY |
TAX DEDUCTIBLE DONATIONS |
We serve dinner at several weekly events, including Sunday and Tuesday dinners and Friday movie nights. Contributing to those meals is a wonderful way to support and care for students. |
Your financial gifts are the cornerstone of our ministry, providing the crucial resources needed to consistently serve students. Every tax-deductible donation is vital, directly funding essential staff, community-building programs, and the maintenance of a welcoming environment for every student who walks through our doors. By contributing, you become a direct partner in creating a lasting, positive impact on the next generation, ensuring our work continues to thrive. |
When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap to the very edges of your field, or gather the gleanings of your harvest.
You shall not strip your vineyard bare, or gather the fallen grapes of your vineyard;
you shall leave them for the poor and the alien: am the LORD your God.
-Leviticus 19:9-10 (NRSV)
